Our Story

Rooted in a Worldwide Network

Talitha Kum was born at the end of the 1990s, when consecrated persons realized the importance and value of joining forces and resources in the development of an integrated network against human trafficking.

Today, Talitha Kum is a worldwide "network of networks" coordinated by the International Union of Superiors General (UISG) in Rome — and Talitha Kum Asia carries this mission across the continent, actively supporting victims, survivors, and people at risk.

  • 1990sConsecrated persons begin joining forces against trafficking.
  • 2009Talitha Kum International is founded under UISG in Rome.
  • 2017Talitha Kum East Asia network is established after the Southeast Asia conference in Thailand.
  • 2025Regional Conference in Jakarta — 60 delegates commit to a six-point action plan.
