Talitha Kum Philippines shares in the 2nd CMSP Convention in Zamboanga

ZAMBOANGA CITY — Talitha Kum Philippines (TKP), the national network of consecrated women united against human trafficking, proudly participated in the 2nd Conference of Major Superiors of the Philippines (CMSP) Convention, held September 1–5, 2026, in Zamboanga City. Under the theme, " Consecrated Persons: Prophetic Witnesses of Peace in a Wounded World" , TKP took center stage to present its annual report, sharing milestones, challenges, and renewed hope in the collective fight against modern-day slavery.
Gathering of Hearts and Minds.
The CMSP Convention brings together leaders of religious congregations across the country to reflect, discern, and act on the pressing realities facing the Church and society today. This year, the gathering was deeply rooted in the words of Simeon: “My eyes have seen your salvation” (Luke 2:30) — a reminder that even amid deep wounds, God’s saving presence is already at work.
For Talitha Kum Philippines, being part of this national assembly was more than representation — it was a call to stand together in solidarity with survivors and vulnerable communities.
TKP Annual Report: Stories of Hope, Calls to Action
A highlight of TKP’s participation was the presentation of its Annual Report, outlining the network’s key initiatives over the past year. Among the major achievements shared:
- Awareness & Prevention: Hundreds of youth, families, and faith leaders oriented on human trafficking risks, online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC), and safe migration.

- Protection, Direct Assistance to Survivors.
-Partnerships with shelters, government, and CSO

- Advocacy & Policy Engagement: Continued collaboration to strengthen anti-trafficking laws, improve victim protection mechanisms, and ensure migrant safety.

- Network Building: Expanded ties with Talitha Kum International, regional bodies, and civil society organizations to amplify the anti-trafficking voice of the Church in the Philippines and beyond.

Why This Matters
Zamboanga City — a crossroads of cultures, faiths, and migration flows — was a deeply fitting venue. It is a region that knows firsthand the risks of displacement, vulnerability, and exploitation. Being present here allowed TKP to:
- Listen closely to local realities and community needs;

- Recommit to bringing anti-trafficking ministry closer to border communities and vulnerable sectors.
Moving Forward Together
The convention strengthened a vital truth: no single group can end human trafficking alone. It requires the whole Church — consecrated men and women, clergy, lay faithful — walking side by side with government, civil society, and communities.
